Patient may perceive lower back pain, which is increased with sitting, turning in the bed or getting up. Pain may perceive to buttock region or back and side of thigh.

Which age group is affected?

Most commonly seen in elderly.

Why it is happens ?

It is because of some injury or fall down and SI joint is affected.

Sometime it is associated with spondylo-arthropathy (systemic inflammation).

How it is diagnosed ?

By clinically (by performing special test names FABER test) and by doing CT scan.

Arthritic changes can be seen.

How it is treated?

Initially we give anti-inflammatory medications with physiotherapy.

If it is not relieved with this medications, then we give SI joint block or RF ablation of this joint or cooled RF ablation of nerve.
